Reading Results & Telemetry
A guide to understanding output charts, energy minimizations, and structural evaluations post-simulation.
VQE Convergence Charts
After executing a Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) task, you will receive a scatter plot or line trajectory graph tracking Energy (Ha) versus Optimization Iterations.
- Descending Trajectory: The classical optimizer successfully updates phase variables toward the global minimum.
- Flatline/Plateau: The optimizer is stuck in a local minimum. Restart the algorithm with differing ansatz variables.
- Exact Limit: The theoretical minimum calculated by NumPy. Ideal convergence rests identically on this line.
QAOA Density Layouts
Sampling outputs return bar plots indexing string permutations to detection probability counts. The highest bar equates to the structurally optimal, most physically likely folding orientation. Secondary bars showcase valid alternatives.
Live Hardware Checks
Always verify execution telemetry against target simulators vs active IBM Quantum backend deployments. Note that error decay natively encountered on real Quantum hardware (QPU) inherently degrades output accuracy proportionally vs simulated (qiskit-aer) instances.
