SDK Notebooks

Interactive Jupyter notebooks for the peptide-quantum SDK. Run VQE, QAOA, and Grover folding algorithms — directly in your browser via Google Colab or Binder, no local install required.

How to open a notebook

🟠
Google Colab
Free GPU, just a Google account. Clones repo automatically. Best for demos.
🔵
Binder
No account needed. Builds a Docker image with all dependencies. Takes ~2 min to start.
💻
Local
Download the .ipynb and open with your local JupyterLab.

Quickstart

Beginner⏱ 5 min

Get your first quantum protein fold result in under 2 minutes. Covers SDK setup, running VQE, and reading results.

01

VQE Protein Folding

Intermediate⏱ 15 min

Full walk-through of the CVaR-DE algorithm (Robert et al. 2021). Includes live progress bar, convergence plots, and multi-sequence benchmarks.

02

QAOA & Grover

Intermediate⏱ 15 min

QAOA p-depth sweep (Boulebnane 2023) and Grover amplitude amplification speedup analysis (Khatami 2023). Side-by-side algorithm comparison.

Noise & Mitigation

Advanced⏱ 20 min

Run on ideal vs noisy backends. Simulate IBM device noise via fake_backend, apply custom T1/T2 parameters, and use ZNE mitigation.

Local vs HTTP API

Intermediate⏱ 10 min

Two execution modes: run_local (in-process, no server) vs QuantumClient (HTTP to FastAPI backend). Backend health checks and full JobSpec reference.

Run locally

Clone the repo and run notebooks in your own Jupyter environment.

1. Clone & install
git clone https://github.com/Sraj4063/peptide-designer.git
cd peptide-designer
pip install -e "sdk/[local]" # installs qiskit, numpy, scipy, tqdm, matplotlib
2. Register Jupyter kernel (optional — use your existing env)
pip install notebook tqdm matplotlib
python -m ipykernel install --user --name bioquantum
3. Open
